"Never say you are five feet nine when you are five feet eight and a half" - Phineas, A Separate Peace

One day I’ll be able to hold your hand
Without breaking promises and your heart,
And one day I will mend with silken strands
The gashes I dealt that deal us apart.
One day we will sleep with no want of leave
And leave in morning with want to next meet.
One day we’ll not kiss hotly to deceive,
But rather because it makes love more sweet.
One day I’ll build you a castle of gold,
And our laps with children will overflow,
And then you’ll feel not as if you were sold,
Rather bought by joy at joyfulness’ woe.
One day, that day I know will soon be by,
But now, for now, it’s only you and I.

Someday, I vow, I will make you a queen.
Someday we’ll again have a sun to see.
Someday, I promise, someday unforeseen,
You’ll find reason to journey back to me.
Someday the ghost of our palace will rise.
Someday dark rooms will fill again with light.
Someday talk of riches will not be lies,
And we’ll be rich with love with truth in sight.
Someday the stars in the sky will align.
Someday hate will turn love again and fly.
Someday, and someday that day will be mine,
I shall conquer love, or else I shall die.
Oh, someday my dreams will be dreams come true,
But for now and forever, I’ve lost you.

This was inspired by my love for Shakesperean sonnets and procrastination. Don't take love for granted, and don't make broken promises. Strive for love with everything you have.
