Believe you can and you're halfway there- Theodore Roosevelt

I was never certain if a wish on a shooting star would ever come true,
I thought maybe it's just a myth like drawings the Indians once drew,
I wanted to believe in wishing on a shooting star,
It was like looking at something from a distance and thinking it would never happen to you because the thought of it just felt too far.

I didn't believe wishing on a star would give me the greatest gift ever,
I didn't believe that a shooting star would give me Trevor,
Until myth became reality in my sense,
It lifted me up and over the fence.

One summer night as dusk fell and I was growing a strong bond with an old crush,
I had known the past few nights that there was something way beyond just a friendship,
I felt something way beyond just the bristles on a lamb brush,
A strong bond between two people that is as strong and natural as when a pair of lips get stuck together from being inseparable.

A few short moments later I look up into the sky as I day dream about him,
Right when I look upon the sky that is so dim,
My eyes go sprinting, my heart goes racing, and my thoughts go straight to one in particular,
Him.

I make my wish on that shooting star,
I had faith it would happen in the future hopefully not too far,
Since then I have been having the most amazing times of my life with this son of God,
I know my wish is just working its way on the beginning of its twinkle.
