Favorite Quote:
"That is part of the beauty of all literature. You discover that your longings are universal longings, that you’re not lonely and isolated from anyone. You belong.” ~ F. Scott Fitzgerald

I shall rise above others’ ideals,
Unbound by morals and all sense of shame!
I pity those insects called role models,
Who allow their lives to slip down the drain!

They don’t deserve water’s comparison!
They’re barren, like deserts in summer’s prime,
Untouched by blood, sweat, tears—how inhuman!
They have done nothing but waste precious time!

I aspire to “lesser” things in this life,
I’ll no longer restrain my impulses,
I shall cut myself from the noose of Strife,
Unburdened by the elite’s repulses!

Though God may have to act accordingly,
We are merely human, so live fully!

This is a Shakespearean sonnet that I wrote for my English class this year. Enjoy.
