All the world bustles about
staring at a screen
the people talk to each other without a sound
society keeps on going, consequences unforeseen

The people stare at their device
perplexed, the people are entrapped by the machine
they cannot look away, for they are enticed.
It has become part of their routine.

The elders shake their heads
for they cannot possibly understand
how the young can be wed
to a cell phone in their hand

How can we solve a problem this widespread?
Put the phone down, look straight ahead

i seriously think EVERY generation needs to read this! amazing! everything you said was so true, and the flow of the poem was impecable! what a great wake up call. the title gives it such an extra "dooms day effect" which i love! 5 stars! (: also, would you mind commenting on my new piece 'screaming, hitting, moving on"?? i'd love the feedback! thanks! and again...amazing piece! (:
