Today we come from distant far away
So near it comes our family so dear
For family this day will be array
We gather round and talk about last year

We go out back to wring the turkey’s neck
Around our house I followed smells divine
A bloody feather streaks the wooden deck
Into our stove we put the bird to shine

Its heading for a freshly cleaned latrine
With each new bite flavors will come alive
We fight for the large bowl of fresh green beans
Thanksgiving dinner is a place to thrive

Bellies so full its hard to catch my breath
Today’s the day that leads to my brain death
