Face down, smelling the sweet grass
Letting tears leak from those soulful eyes
Running on the ground, creating rivulets
That send ants cowering for cover
A curtain of hair falls in front of her face
As she gets up to face the sun
Hiding the red blush across her cheeks
From the shame of being tricked
Eyes beautiful, long lashes
Decorated with beads of tears
Blinking away sun spots
Opening to the light
Lifting her head, she finally sees
All the beauty God has given
From a daisy in front of her nose
To a bumblebee, hovering by a rose
The sun glinting off her lashes,
She faces the day with a stronger heart and soul
