With twilight drawing on near
I am so very sorry,
But I must make it clear.
We must be apart, but don’t worry,
It’s only for the night.
I promise you my dear.
When the sky is once again bright.
I’ll wait for you here.
If you dream of me
I’ll dream of you too.
We’ll both be worry free.
Then at dawn, when the birds start to coo,
I promise my love, we will be together again,
And a new day will begin.
