I was sitting at the table when I heard you sing
It was such a beautiful thing
The sound made my eardrums dance
My heart didn’t have a chance
Then that sound became my song
When it played, nothing could go wrong
Then I found you were just a mocking bird
Playing the same tune I’ve always heard
Now I beg you to take off, to take flight
That is why I am alone tonight.
