I stand upon the ocean shore
With sand beneath my feet
I whisper to the water
I'm staring at the sea.

It whispers back so softly,
Inviting me to dive
I take a few steps forward
Asking can I be alive?

"No" it whispers back to me
Its voice so dry and cold
Now I step into the sea
What could it behold?

Haunting and beautiful. I like the way you rhymed it. I disagree with the sea though: I encourage you to stay alive so you can write more awesome poetry :)
