It is upon this day that I bestow,
My final breath, so sweet, so pure, so clean.
I’m sorry I did not wish to seem mean,
But it’s the day I, myself, must go.
And why you hate is something I don’t know.
I never lied, I never thought to cheat,
So why your heart so full of loath and heat?
I only wished for us to love and grow.

But now I see you as you are,
You’re not the same young girl I knew before.
I said I’d love you ‘till the very end.
Yet how you act now makes it very hard,
And now I feel my love for you no more.
So please return my dear and loving friend.

I wrote this poem for my creative writing class first semester. I wrote the poem because after I broke up with my girlfriend, she started dating my best friend. Then she made him cut ties with me and I was very hurt, angry, and disappointed.
