The world will end in a dark Hellish Fire,
The earth will be set on a searing blaze.
It all must end due to man's vast desire;
We all will die by a dark burning haze.

We are left to awaait our burning end,
Because man cannot change his selfish ways.
And the salvation our God shall not send,
For he believes its time for man to pay.

The world shall perish because of man's greed.
Say good-bye to all that we seem to love.
As the Devil performs the final deed,
We shall not be accepted up above.

It is by the Hellish Fire that we shall perish,
Because man has not the heart to cherish.

The author's comments:
I wrote this piece as part of my english final. I thought about how it would sound on my way to the bus one morning and I spent the next couple weeks revising it and changing certain things in it. When people read this i hope that they can sort of connect with some of the hidden meanings in the poem or that they think about the poem in not only a figurative way, but also in a literal way.
