Shoot safely, shoot often, and share your sport.
Jim Scoutten

Brown eyes mirror my heart, love binds through death;
Keeps no secrets hidden from worldly eyes.
Tenderest touch, gentle kiss, warm wet breath.
Treasured time, togetherness as the prize.

Sweetness proves our love, until defied,
Displeasure lifts the brow, turns back to snub.
Icy betrayal turns your head aside.
Beg to favor, treats to restore our love.

Stroll with me through fields of life, in step true.
Awaken all my senses to your sight.
Befriend my solitude, keep frowns as few.
Our friendship proves all that is good and right.

So dear canine friend, our love does grow strong.
Life is lived, so dogs are loved, this our song.

My English teacher "inspired" me to write this sonnet, and my dog Sarge was the inspiration for the poem.
