Jacob's Sonnet
A singer's lyrics filled my heart with song:
 "I'm gonna catch your hand and make you stay."
 It was amazing how we got along;
 How we would talk until the night was day
 Though it felt shady that I wasn't yours,
 it still felt right with your voice on the line.
 And when we could just talk all night for hours,
 I knew I wanted you to be all mine.
 But I was selfish and unfair to you,
 to toy with your emotions, make you wait.
 I didn't know what else there was to do,
 however, I'm afraid it's much too late.
 I'm sorry I pulled you along a string
 Now I know you don't owe me anything.
