Natural Disorder

And here comes spring, with its armoury of life
Rising like the tide to crash the darkness.
Locked in a battle for place and time;
The bitter air and the blossoming sun.
And winter has spread its seed without mercy
Over the land and the people. And they are forced
To look in earnest for some seasonal relief.
Emerging from every root of nature about us,
And from in our hearts we can feel it,
Spring is victorious; natural disorder returns.
And whilst the winter lovers find solace in the shadows
The rest of us progress forward in harmony;
Swept along with the welcome change of season
Embracing it until it next does battle.

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem to reflect on a blizzard that happened in my area well into the season of spring. I imagined the winter to be fighting back against spring and was inspired to write this poem.
