One and Only
I don’t ever want to leave him alone,
Through all the trouble, he keeps me afloat.
When we separate, I am always prone
To call him, text him, leave him a cute note.
He does not always hold open the door,
And he forgets to hug me on some nights.
People tell me to look for something more,
But when I am with him, something ignites.
Many friends don’t always want to agree.
I’m sorry they don’t see him like I do,
But that young man will always be for me.
Couples that find this love: they are quite few.
All of his loveliness, laughter, and charm,
O heavens, do not bring me any harm.
