In the midst of winter,
I finally learned that
there was in me
an invincible summer.

As I left home that cloudy day in May,
A big, fat raindrop landed next to me.
Surprised and gleeful, I began to play
Until the earth was wet, and I felt free.
The dry, yellow grass bent slightly over
As rain came pouring down upon the ground.
I bent down and picked a four-leaf clover.
I was so happy that I waltzed around.
As the wind blew great big storm clouds away,
I knew it was time to head towards school.
As I walked, I wished that the rain would stay.
My clothes were drenched, and I was like a fool.
After the storm was over, the earth shined.
And sparkled. Rain is a beautiful sign.
