She was so close to Him
But she let herself get in the way
Without Him her life grew dim
She knows she has gone astray
She thinks there’s no chance
To be with Him again
He see’s her look back with a glance
She whispers a prayer, amen
He runs to her rescue
Promising He’ll never leave her side
All she can say is “I love you”
Without Him she would have died
She lifts her hands to Him everyday
Promising she will never run away
