Dearest Dandelion
With the sun, the golden blossom sprouts and blooms,
Its yellow petals are a work of art.
The flower fills the air with divine fumes,
A truly timeless treasure from Spring’s heart.
Oh, hopeful people wish on the soft fuzz,
It drifts into the boundless sky of blue.
Spreading wild fantasies is what it does,
And once it lands one's sought desire comes true.
But when the incessant rain strikes the ground,
While lightning dances throughout the night,
The delicate florets will now be drowned,
Subdued because of their sorrowful plight.
The dandelion is a spark of hope,
To those grievously lost and forced to cope.
