Verse 1

Once upon a time,

A girl was fifteen,

All she wanted to was shine,

Shine in beauty.

She felt ashamed,

For feeling out of place,

It's not like she wanted fame,

But she wished for a better face.

Now that she's in love,

Once again,

She feels so above,

How she feels depressed now and then.

But she won't pursue him,

She knows it's not meant to be,

How do I know she likes him,

Because she is me.

Chorus

Reality is what they call it,

Where true love isn't meant to be,

No matter how much I want it,

It just isn't for me.

Reality is where it hurts,

The scars never fade away,

As I desert,

The real me and restrain.

Restrain the part of me,

That believes true love is alive,

The part that is set free,

That's not afraid to hide.

But then reality comes back,

And remember me,

Who's visibly cracked,

And falling for a senior quickly.

Verse 2

Fifteen walking with my friends,

As I look away,

Trying to mend,

My broken heart and pray.

Then I see him,

Then I'm lit like I'm alive,

Like I haven't been dimmed,

Or been trying to hide.

But then I snap back,

In my same place,

And mend the cracks,

That seem to be under my face.

So I walk forward,

Trying to hide,

The distant award,

And the depressing eyes.

Chorus

Reality is what they call it,
Where true love isn't meant to be,
No matter how much I want it,
It just isn't for me.
Reality is where it hurts,
The scars never fade away,
As I desert,
The real me and restrain.
Restrain the part of me,
That believes true love is alive,
The part that is set free,
That's not afraid to hide.
But then reality comes back,
And remember me,
Who's visibly cracked,
And falling for a senior quickly.

Verse 3

Reality is important,

For you and I,

Because even though it hurts for long moments,

It keeps me from chasing something that isn't mine

Reality is my fear,

Because I have to face,

The romantic music in my ear,

Then run from the chase

Even though te scars increase,

It's okay,

Even though it burns,

At least it's only for years and days

Reality is reality,

Confusion within itself,

Every part of me,

Calling for my crush's help

R, for how raw,

E, for enchanting awe,

A, for always there,

L, for loving hair,

I, for indigenous ways,

T, for taking my heart away,

Y, for making me forgetting loves lies

I'm falling again aren't I?

Chorus

Reality is what they call it,
Where true love isn't meant to be,
No matter how much I want it,
It just isn't for me.
Reality is where it hurts,
The scars never fade away,
As I desert,
The real me and restrain.
Restrain the part of me,
That believes true love is alive,
The part that is set free,
That's not afraid to hide.
But then reality comes back,
And remember me,
Who's visibly cracked,
And falling for a senior quickly.
