i been Shot

By , valparaiso, IN
It is like I am being shot.
I am what that bullet sought.
It strikes right through my chest.
It burst my heart on request.
I can’t stop the bleeding.
And everything that helps is misleading.

Leaves a big hole and takes a chunk right out.
Yet I still don’t know what this is about.
It has something to do with me right?
The reason I was shot on sight.
By my tormenter smiling away.
And telling me it will be okay.

My soul falls with broken wings.
A sad song an angle sings.
What a lovely song that calls for me.
To talk about the deepest misery.

I know I won’t ever be the same.
As the gunshot yells my name.
And the bullet screams a lullaby.
Taking out my heart when I die.

All I can do is get down and pray.
And hope the lord will let me stay.
Or at least join him up there.
As we all know life is unfair.
And yet we want to go on.
Even when all we want is gone.

I let myself feel the cold wind blow.
It is not here to help that I know.
Yet I let it show the sings of what’s to come.
And then a chill so cold I go numb.
And it feels so great.
I almost forget about hate.

My soul falls with broken wings.
A sad song an angle sings.
What a lovely song that calls for me.
To talk about the deepest misery.

I know I won’t ever be the same.
As the gunshot yells my name.
And the bullet screams a lullaby.
Taking out my heart when I die.

The more you want me to stay.
I want to leave with nothing to say.
The bullet helps me fall.
Ripping right through and heart and all.
No longer I can feel and I can thank the bullet.
This is the only way I can forget it.

Don’t worry about me you can’t turn back time.
If I could I would and take back all that was mine.
So don’t ever fight my misery.
I’m gone from a bullet that saved me.
And now I am completely gone.
Even though I still breathe on.

My soul falls with broken wings.
A sad song an angle sings.
What a lovely song that calls for me.
To talk about the deepest misery.

I know I won’t ever be the same.
As the gunshot yells my name.
And the bullet screams a lullaby.
Taking out my heart when I die.
