We all sink to the bottom before we can swim
Because no one dips their feet before they dive in
And the tide and current will take us by surprise
While we're falling deep in a sea of blissful lies
And the cold will sting and it will numb our skin
Until we can't feel the water and what we're swimming in
We look for an easy way out to turn waves into ripples
But it's too late when we learn this water isn't that simple
When the waves hit us they will selfishly knock us down
And we will sink and we will sink until we can see the ocean's ground
We can overcome the waves or we can let them win
This ocean is life and we can either sink or we can swim
