Just the Way You Are

bid farewell to the crowd pleasers
please her with your marvelous moves
and move you do
you move me to tears
with my two ears, i hear your soul sing
sing you do
solely you

only you i see
amid the fame-struck stars
conform to a sick mold
they dont know who they are
can't stand their collectiveness
it's a horrid mess
so i sit-in to protest
instead of fitting in
just the way you are
i like, i like, i like
just the way you are
i like the way you are

justice is a mistress
she comes, then she goes
i know its hard to bear
when she's not there
yet DNA and barcodes, they hate
they'd rather clone
the ones that take
the crown
borrowed robes, borrowed fame
they don't possess any names

only you i see
flaunting flaws intact
coloured to a brighter hue
let's face these simple facts
you never have to act
you're quite the character
let's draw up purple-prints
unique caricature
just the way you are
i love, i love, i love
just the way you are
i love the way you are

in this universe
we all want to be heard
no matter the speed of light
it matters, our strengh of might

in this home we live in
can't be dragged down by pretense
your reign will prevail
relentless,none less than
yourself
yourself
you're self
