The days are getting colder,
And I am getting older,
And you are gone.
The days are slightly dreary,
They pass without remark,
They're missing your life,
That edgy vital spark.
And I don't know what to be without you,
I don't know who you are anymore,
I wish we could go back to where we were-
Before.
Before the days got cold, before you got old-
Older than me.
So much older.
College.
That word is stretching us apart, stretching us so far apart we could break.
I wish you were you, and I was me,
And we were together again.
Because you loved me,
and I loved you-
Before the days got cold.

I wrote this when my friend was going off to college and (as I thought) leaving me behind.
