He had this dream that all men were created equal.
And he had this dream that segregation would end.
Little black boy’s and little white girls would hold hands.
And that one day his children would not be judged.
Bridge:
And it’s the dream of most Americans
But some they don’t believe it
But what I believe is that they have fought…..
Chorus:
They have fought for all their lives.
And they have fought and they have cried.
They won’t stop till they’ve got what they want.
Yes they’ve fought and they have died
Ahhh but most of all they have fought….
Way too much.

(End with way too much)

She sat on that bus knowing that it was wrong
And she grew up knowing that she was black
But that did not stop her from stepping up
And fighting for what was hers.
Bridge: Chorus:
He walked in the store a whole 14 years old.
And he walked out not knowing what he had done.
What could be so bad ‘bout saying “good-bye”
Just that one word might end his life.
But his family still fought on.
Bridge: Chorus (x2)
