As dry soil crumbles beneath the sun
and thirsts for the smallest dew,
break me.
In through the hardest shell
which You'll throw askew,
break me.

Break me to be given to others.
Break me like the hearts of young lovers.
Break me to see through your eyes,
and to know Your limits stretch beyond my skies.

As a wild mustang, taken away
to be tamed and trained,
break me.
Like the hands of one
taking to their first plow,
break me.

Break me to be given to others.
Break me like the hearts of young lovers.
Break me to see through your eyes,
and to know Your limits stretch beyond my skies.

We all need to be broken in order to grow, and don't forget, we all reap what we sow.

Break me to be given to others.
Break me like the hearts of young lovers.
Break me to see through your eyes,
and to know Your limits stretch beyond my skies.

I'm seeing too much of myself,
and I need to see You to know my true wealth,
so break me tonight. . .

I wrote this after realizing that all of us need to be broken before we can grow. For example, before a person can grow more muscle, it has to be broken down first. We all go through hard times. Those times will only make us stronger.
