A great battle was lost in '82.
Soldiers didn't want to be in their own shoes.
Guns were shot and people were killed,
Guts were splattered and blood was spilled,
And the people surrendered to the Red, White, and Blue.

The author's comments:
When doing poetry and stories I like to add a bit of darkness into them. Most limericks are fun and happy, but I chose to write something serious and show that limericks can be more than fun and happy.
