Persephone
You have heard how I was
The damsel,
Helpless,
Captured,
And how my youth
Was destroyed along with
My mother’s heart.
What you haven’t heard
Was how I ran among the land
And found an entrance myself
How I stroked every crevice,
Hole,
And opening
To the forbidden world
And oh,
How I fell so deeply
In love with it.
It is so strange
To be adored
By the man that
Had Antipathy for all,
I was not kidnapped
And forced to Love this man,
For I willingly
Gave my all to him.
I know I should not love you,
But I simply cannot deny myself
Of the affection I feel for you.
The stain of pomegranates
Laced my lips
And everyone feared
That it was blood
But alas,
It was just the juice
Of my
Home.
They switched out
The flowers in my hair
For the crown made of thorns
And as the blood dripped down my temples,
And the deceased cried out
Watching their new queen in pain,
I smiled and announced
‘To be soft
Is to be strong
And i will teach you all the ways
Of how to be powerful.’
I run along hand in hand with my mother
In the fields watching the flowers
Bloom
In our presence.
I also walk the land of the dead
Having souls
Prosper
With a single look.
There is a balance between
Darkness
and Light
For It is not Easy
But it is worth it.
