just a drink

slouching
as i hold the mug of swishing beer
in my scarred, calloused hands
grimacing
as i raise the glass,
gazing at the mesmerizing dark gold shimmer in the light
shaking
as i take a swig of the bitter liquid
and wipe my mouth of the white foam
shivering
as the sensation of warmth floods my body,
quickly overwhelming the dissipating stress and pain
smiling
as my vision starts to blur
and my eyes begin to close gently
