Sometimes
There are times that I forget
That you’re not around
Times that I’m so happy
I forget how to frown
And then I am reminded
With a song, a sight, or sound
Sometimes the world distracts me
From everything thats gone
Just a shred of light
Through curtains tightly drawn
But darkness always comes, so I sit
Longing for the dawn
Its these little fleeting moments
That keep my candle lit
These moments of escape are nice,
But short I must admit
And after all this time alone
My soul is getting chipped
And then from under the clouds
The sun comes into view
The grey is blown away
And turns a brilliant blue
I think about the dark and say,
“If you only knew”.
