Overwhelmed by sadness
I put down the paper,
New headline
Still no peace
Change the channel
Still no peace
More violence
The images replay in my head
Gunshots and bombings
I think about the world
In a different perspective
How can I live with peace of mind,
If there is no peace to be found
Violence
Guess that’s the norm, now
Peace is gone
Vanished
To those just entering the world
Maybe one day I will turn on the TV
And cry tears of joy
Maybe one day
Skin color won’t determine a person
Maybe one day
It’ll be fear
It’ll be fear who vanishes
Maybe one day
I will turn on the TV
And cry tears of joy
But for now,
Those tears are from fear
