weightless
with my head on your chest and your fingers tracing over the freckles on my thigh
we lay there
music filling the air, drowning out our relaxed breathing
can’t help the smile forming on my face
as I look into your deep blue eyes
weightless
that’s how I feel when i’m around you
as we drive down empty roads
I notice how the street lights emphasise the shadows from the very tips of the tree branches
to the way your eyes travel across the road
you looked over to me and asked what was on my mind
and I told you that I could write a poem about this
the moment
the feeling
the way you’ve altered my thinking
every moment with you creates stanzas upon stanzas of beautiful words blossoming within my mind

This poem is very meaningful to me because it's written about someone who has impacted me in a huge way.
