The Tragic Sound of Silence
Silent.
That’s what you became to me.
You were mine, I was yours.
It’s hard to remember you.
When I think of you,
All I see is you sitting in your green chair,
Peppered hair,
Large square glasses,
Smoking a cigarette.
I always questioned what happened to you,
Why you suddenly became so silent to me.
But, you weren’t just mute to me,
You were mute to everyone that knew you.
Your time had run out and it was time for you to go.
You left us so soon,
My dear Grandpa Gil.
