Dream of the Sea

I only meant to close them for a second,
A moment
A fraction of time
But in the darkness, I saw spots,
Dots of bright color,
Clearing to reveal the night sky
Looking at the sparkling constellations
I heard the familiar cry,
The embrace of the sea spray on my cheek
I heard the boards creak beneath my boots,
Groaning with the push of the waves,
And the slap of the sails waiting to fly
