I Will Rise
Psalms 113:3
“From the rising of the sun to its setting The name of the LORD is to be praised.”
~
The darkness inside that controlled my every move has faded,
I will no longer lay myself down in the bed of brokenness that I had created.
But instead I’ll Rise and shine like the sun does each and every morning,
Singing and bringing The LORD praise and glory.
The words that flow from my mind and onto paper will speak truth.
The music that my heart beats will worship what He has done for me,
And I will continue to live and breathe his Grace, Love, and Peace.
Because He rose from the dead for me, I will rise and my praise will never cease.
“Amazing grace how sweet the sound, I once was lost but now found.”
Those are the famous lyrics that sound in your ear at church in the morning,
The ones that I sung at my Aunt's funeral, but not in mourning.
The black cloak of depression that once hid me has finally been lifted.
What a great relief it is to feel the weight shifted.
So like the sun and our praise in the morning, again He will help me rise.
So as the sun sets and darkness begins to fill the skies
And sleepiness begins to cloud our eyes.
Know we never make it to tomorrow, we always live in today.
And all the LORD asks is that we believe that HE saves.

This poem was inspired by Maya Angelou’s poem “Still I Rise”. I try to use scripture in every poem I write and it cane to kind while praying that we raise Our hands in praise to the Lord. And the Lord has risen from the dead.
