Pumpkin Spice Lattes and Haunted Houses
Another dollar spent as your
hot chocolate is poured into a portable
cup, candy corn is now half priced
and family sized Halloween candy bags fill
the shopping carts.
The leaves fall;
Red, orange, and yellow
as you look down and see the pile
and instantly jump to release your
inner child.
The chilly winds from the
40 degree weather, make you pull
the sleeves from your hoodie down.
It's the month! The month of fright fests,
haunted houses, and pumpkin spice lattes.
A mom strolls through the neighborhood
with her child on her hip, as she admires
the cute superheroes and fake skeletons
on every house as her toddler springs to ring
another doorbell.
It's pumpkin-poppin,
Bobbing for apples, trying to get through a
corn maze following up with haunted houses.
It's Columbus Day,
It's National Frankenstein Day,
and Pumpkin Cheesecake Day,
It's October!
The little girl shrieks as she twirls in her
bunny costume,
loud giggles as she sees the scary
pumpkin faces carved in the fat, juicy pumpkin.
It's the month!
It's the month of fright fests, haunted houses,
and pumpkin spice lattes.
It's finally October!
