fragile flowers
like flowers, we are beautiful.
like flowers, we are unique.
we each have a beauty which makes us different from the rest.
we grow in different places, in different climates, in different ways.
we each must be tended to differently.
people observe our beauty.
they observe only our beauty
and wish that they, too, could be so beautiful.
as beautiful as a flower, they say.
like flowers, we are fragile.
like flowers, we have thorns.
we each have a darkness which makes us different from the rest.
we have grown in different places, in different climates, in different ways.
we each have been tended to differently.
people observe our beauty.
they observe only our beauty
and they forget that we are fragile.
as fragile as a flower, they say.
the people look in awe at our beauty,
but they fail to see that we are easily broken.
