Momma,
When I grow up I’m gonna own a big house!
The neighbors will be jealous
Of the arcing fancy, fanciful arcs
Of the staircase
That’ll fill with chatter, laughter
Bound by harmony, melody
And brilliant paper.

Momma,
When I grow up I’m gonna own a hundred dogs!
Little ones
And they’ll drink when tears soak my eyes
And yipping will coat laughter
With a yellow film
Chew toys, like worries
Will vanish into cushions.

Momma,
When I grow up I’m gonna be married!
He’ll be rich
With silky hands, silver
That’ll rest on my finger
Silver swirling through my mind
Slipping through my words
Wispy, breezy
Easy as trickling bubbles.

Momma,
When I grow up we’re gonna live forever!
We’ll live here and nothing will change
And I’ll see you every day.
