My Roots
I come from an array of diverse ethnicities
The Chamorro side is salty, sassy, and strong
The Filipino side deals with sinigang
and accents
The Chinese side is one that’s inexplicable
The Vietnamese side is
one that gives
me pride
I’m like pancake batter
Mix Chamorro, Filipino, Chinese, Vietnamese, and bam there’s me!
This poem is about my culture. I hope people will learn to embrace who they are, no matter the race, religion, or social class. Remember that YOU ARE LOVED!
