Favorite Quote:
If the truth shall kill them, let them die.

We do not exist
Or so we’ve been told.
We do not matter
As you all know.
We are just specks
on the shiny globe.
We have no home
Therefore, we deserve none.
We become our surroundings
If they don’t erase us first.
We become marks
on the perfect white paper,
Dirt on your favorite pair of shoes.
But no matter!
We don’t really exist anyway
We chose this path, of course
Didn’t you?
And, here, take our name, too!
We don’t mind
because we don’t exist

The author's comments:

The inspiration for this poem mainly stemmed from the overlooked and forgotten minorities in both the U.S. and the world. Through sarcasm and a bit of satire, I expressed the opinions of the majority, demonstrating that their sentiments are far from accurate. The importance of this indivdual poem is the global significane of recognizing and remembering the minorities that many people do not even realize exist. Every person has an indentity and a culture and they should never be forgotten simply due to their lack of massive population around the world.
