A maple tree what a sight to see
As lovely as lovely can be

A maple tree with leaves so bright
Seems to light up the night

A proud tree so strong and firm
But everything has an end, this you must affirm

Time bites and gnashes its teeth
For there is nothing time cannot beat

Everything dies you see
And there is no sadder sight than the death of a maple tree

Its branches once filled with yellows, oranges, and reds
Are now twisted, broken, and dead

Through torrents of rain and scorching sun,
This great beauty's life is almost done

By the howling wind it’s battered and bruised

The maple tree finally gives in to the abuse

What makes one cry? And brings tears to one’s eyes?
As you can see, it is the death of a maple tree
