The pastel blue had a slight hue of green

That intertwined within the empty and open sky

The wispy and amorphous clouds

Spread whispy and lazy streaks, slightly pink in the sunlight.

And just as the last ray of the golden sun

Kissed farewell to the grand city,

Miniature, angular, dandelions lights flickered on.

People pulled on their lamps to escape

The creeping darkness and its cold cold fingers.

The orange and yellow glow bathed the room

And the once wary eyes lost their stale glare

As the light shoved the darkness, its luminous, yet soft touch

Embraced everything within its reach.

And so one by one, all the lights defeated the cold

And the grand city seemed to be even grander than before.

I looked at my laptop wallpaper and I wanted ot write a poem about it-I thought the city wallpaper was beautiful and I wanted to convey it into words.
