hidden in plain sight
there I remain
enduring all

quickly paced feet
that stroll over me
the sounds of
rambunctious words
that minimize me
the sights of
satisfied expressions
that remind me
that I am unsure
of how to uncover it
surrounded
by strange faces
and familiar ones
being the essence of life
there I remain
unnoticeable
I stand there
searching for someone
to hear my cry
yet I am unworthy
i’m shut in
out
left
right
my thoughts
keeping me company
while it engulfs me
and my mind wonders
i scream
and no one hears a thing
i jump
and no one asks why
i cry

i am a shadow

as a dark shape
