The bike ride was long and it started to get hot

One of us said this was a good place to stop

We hopped off our bikes and chained them up

To figure out the stop was an ice cream hut

Hot became humid as the sun fell behind the horizon

I counted some stars there must have been a dozen

We ran to the line with cheer and delight

As all of us were so hot and ready for a great night

We placed our orders and we gave them the rest of our money

And they all came out and it became real funny

My friend dropped his napkin and bent down to pick it up

When his ice cream quickly fell along with his drink in his cup

I looked at mine and back at his

And felt as if I didn't need mine as much as his

His eyes were frozen while his ice cream quickly melted

I took action and gave him mine in the second

He looked up in surprise

To only find it was alright

I felt all proud

I knew I was a selfless man and in my head I bowed
