You and me then gone

It was you and me since I was small
Best friends forever until it was your time
But was it really your time
Who knows?
When I drift into a silence I can picture you there
By my side until it was your time
Together forever I thought
Then time took you away
Yet I feel your presents by my side
A subtle breeze as you slip out of my fingers
And into the sky
But you're gone not forgotten and never alone.
