If I loose myself,
I loose it all.
All the happiness,
All the hope,
Everything that made me content.

What's not lost is the pain,
Pain from the past,
Pain that will stay with you,
No matter how hard you try.
The type of pain that hurts you every single day.
Pain that pierces into your soul,
So that the pain will always be a part of you.

You fake a smile to hide
Your feelings are disguised,
And you don't want anyone knowing who you really are.
Your hope,
Happiness,
Is taken out of your body.

People are caught up,
With only things about themselves.
Push you down,
Tell you who you have to be.
They don't want to see you free
Free from the pain in the past.
Leave you in the dust
To suffer all alone.

If I loose myself I loose it all.
No one would understand.

The author's comments:

You are hidden from the world but no one notices you drifting away. They are too caught up with themselves to not notice what the world has to offer around them.
