The Torrent of Life

Someone once told me that life is a stream and to go with the flow;
but life isn't a stream.
It's a torrent- violently and perilously destroying the cities of our souls and tearing down the barricades of our hearts.
For, you can't flow with a tsunami or you would inevitably drown...
but I guess that's what we are doing.
Drowning in our own waters,
The torrent of life.
