Going Against the Storm
Her eyes were the color of the sky during a storm
Dark and clouded with mist
Her face pale like the moon
Against the dark atmosphere
Of the world's grueling expectations
She stands there unmoved by nature
A force to be reckoned with
A rock
Yet a tornado of emotion surrounds
Waving her back and forth
She's whipped by whispers and taunts
They are the wind to the hurricane
Her body is battered by the aftermath
Of the continuous damage
She's falling down
The bridge is collapsing
Water pours
Lightning strikes
Thunder booms
She's fighting for her life
But the storm always wins
