Every kid looks forward to summer.
Who doesn’t love the warm weather,
The Slurpees, soft grass on bare feet?
That sense of freedom
And almost no responsibility
Is unlike any other.
Perhaps the only things better than summer itself,
Are the summer nights.
Walking around the silent streets,
Seeing the fog swirl around the street lamps.
It’s so placid, so tranquil.
Almost an alternate reality
Compared to the craziness of daily life.
An escape.
