"Sometimes you have to swim upstream to see the lake the water comes from"
-Hunter Ball

The earth spins so fast
That not a day goes by
Without me wondering
What the point of it all is

The Earth, constantly revolving
Rotating around one point
Right in the middle
Each side getting a turn in the light
Of the bright potential of the Sun
Then reentering the vast darkness
Stuck on repeat

A constant moment of knowing
Your time in the light will pass
And all you are left with
Is the thought of loneliness
But every time you awake in the darkness
You don’t see loneliness
But specks of light

Tiny specks, so far away
Like grains of sand
But where they are,
It is day

And tomorrow waits, slumbering
While I wait until my turn in the light
Because that is the only way
To see your potential

But what has yet to be realized
Everything on the earth is just
A grain of sand
Just like the stars
shining through the darkness

And that if we see what we truly are
Just small grains of sand
We can become
Grains of stardust,
Shining in the darkness
