Dumb Adolescence
In breezy evenings on the boardwalk
We ran amuck throwing fireworks:
Nick’s face in a grin, as sinister as a demon
And it grew more mischievous as he said:
“I just put a bomb bag in that trash can,
we should run its gonna be loud.”
The ocean swallowed his words.
He ran by me up the boardwalk, and I swiftly followed
I heard the firework go off from in the trashcan
Echoing like a gunshot
Against a panicked boardwalk, masses scattered
Little voices chuckled in the distance.
